The Relational Way

A retreat for those who long to live in right relationship — with Mother Earth, with their own bodies, and with the cultures and lands they travel through.

Held by the volcanic mountains of Guatemala, this seven-day retreat is an offering not only to yourself but to the children of San Andrés Itzapa — in partnership with Project Genesis, a local nonprofit.

February 28 - March 7, 2026
7 Nights in Antigua, Guatemala

Why this retreat is different

Modern retreats offer us a chance to disconnect from the world — we are inviting you to deepen your connection to it. The heart of this offering is about how to live in right relationship: to ourselves, to the Earth, and to what it means to be a visitor in someone else’s homeland.

A Week in the Relational Way

Our retreat follows a gentle rhythm to support your body, spirit, and sense of connection. Each day will include a blend of personal healing, cultural learning, embodied practice, and spacious rest — all rooted in the sacred land that holds us.

A sample day may look like:

Morning: – Herbal tea + quiet time – Gentle yoga or Foundation Training – Earth-centered meditation – Nourishing organic breakfast

Midday: – Plant teachings (cacao, coffee, native plants) – Cultural teachings or visit to Project Genesis – Communal lunch + rest

Afternoon: – Mayan ceremony or healing circle – Optional massage or integration session – Nature walk, reflection or creative time

Evening: – Dinner under the stars – Sound healing, Yoga Nidra, Temazcal (Mayan Sauna)– Time to rest, write, or simply be

Some days will include visits to Project Genesis, sacred sites near Antigua, coffee farm trips, volcano hikes, and trips in the heart of Antigua city. Others will offer more spaciousness for personal healing and Earth connection.

Service as Relationship

A significant portion of your retreat investment goes directly to Project Genesis, a grassroots Guatemalan led non-profit organization that provides education, nutrition, and opportunities for underserved children in San Andrés Itzapa, Guatemala. This is deeper than visiting a school—it holds medicine for our future generations as we build relationships, learn from the community, and contribute in a meaningful, ethical way. By saying yes to this retreat, you are directly supporting the future of these bright and beautiful children while also saying yes to inner growth and transformation that serves all of our relations.

Below is a video that Hakim made 12 years ago after volunteering at Project Genesis. The project has grown a lot since then, but it still helps to give you a sense of what they do and why they need our support:

Local (Supporting the Community)

  • Led by local Mayan Healer, Tz’ules-the Temazcal Ceremony is a powerful ancient therapy tht works through heat, natural aromatic medicinal plants, natural mud and exfoliants, and herbal baths. The 4 cardinal elements, chakra activation, drumming, and chanting are used to help eliminate toxins from the body and spirit at all levels. Recommended for groups of 6 or less at a time, due to the capacity of the Temazcal (mayan sauna).

  • Experience deep rest and recalibration with a massage from one of the incredible Guatemalan therapists we work with. Your session supports the local economy and helps sustain traditional healing practices.

  • A shared experience for couples, partners, or close friends who wish to receive side-by-side healing sessions. A beautiful way to drop in together during the retreat and support the local massage therapists.

  • A powerful somatic reset guided by experienced facilitators. The cold plunge supports your immune system, circulation, and mental clarity.

Other local wellness or cultural options may be available depending on timing. We'll provide more details as the retreat gets closer.
